Tree Man Gathering Ensemble

Grab your didge, drum, or any other musical instrument at your disposal... this workshop is a scheduled "silent" rehearsal and organizational meeting for the Tree Man Gathering Ensemble.

The group will consist of TMG community members who wish to perform in an organized ensemble for a full performance set onstage Sunday afternoon at 4:00pm... all are encouraged to participate in this event.

Youth World Music Clinic

This workshop will give children and young adults an opportunity to explore a variety of world music instruments, including African Percussion, Native American Flutes, and Australian Didgeridoo. Participants will be encouraged to try different instruments, and the class will have the opportunity to perform onstage at the open mic that evening. Instruments will be available for use or you may bring your own.

No experience needed, restricted to ages 4-18.

Expand your musical vocabulary:
Finding your didgeridoo voice.

This seminar will explore the wide range of didgeridoo performance techniques available in order for you to develop your own personal playing style, or "voice".  Included will be a detailed handout for all participants, which will highlight all the topics to be discussed.

Adult World Music Clinic

This workshop will give adults an opportunity to explore a variety of world music instruments, including African Percussion, Native American Flutes, and Australian Didgeridoo. Japanese Shakuhachi flute

The workshop will function as an introduction to the history, playing techniques, types, and music of the classical Japanese Shakuhachi flute.  Pieces from the Jin Nyodo honkyoku repertoire will be performed as well as examples of gaikyoku and folk music. Several other world flutes will also be introduced including the Bolivian quena and the Russian kalyuka. An extensive list of resources regarding the purchase and study of these instruments will be provided at the workshop.


No experience needed.
